Meet New Rocket League 80s Content

blog-post

If you’re a fan of Rocket League, you won’t be surprised to find out that this game has been a winner or nominee of over 150 “Best of 2015” awards. You have to agree that it’s an achievement. Game of the Year, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Sports Game sounds so cool that even those who aren’t familiar with this unbelievable physics-based combination of soccer and driving should be eager to try out this multiplayer game. The supersonic acrobatic rocket-powered vehicles are always ready to battle because they are equipped with rocket boosters so powerful that you simply don’t have a chance to lose. I absolutely love it.

Now, let’s welcome Radical Summer, which is a new and exciting 1980s in-game event that is scheduled to take place from June 10 until August 12. Obviously, the content is all about nostalgia, so iconic things of ’80s TV series, movies, and culture as a whole will be featured free and in the form of limited-time game modes. There might be some other options, but developers promised to announce details at a later date. You will be able to play matches online, earn “Cassettes,” and redeem them for in-game items.

Among the franchises that will be featured you will see Ghostbusters, WWE, Knight Rider, ET, Karate Kid, The Goonies, Back to the Future, Voltron Legendary Defender.

It is planned to divide Radical Summer into three parts such as Blockbusters, Culture, and, of course, Television. Each event will take three weeks so let’s check out the general roadmap provided by Psyonix.

’80s Blockbusters from 06.10 to 07.01

The celebration starts on June, 10 with the launch of the Ecto-1 Wheels, Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Car Pack, Ghostbusters Avatar Border, Ghostbusters Player Banner, Slimer Topper, Proton Pack Boost, and the Stay Puft Goal Explosion (this one will go for $1.99).

Ghost Hunt will be the first limited-time 3v3 game mode in which the players should fire a proton beam to get a ball and carry it to the opponents’ zone and score a goal.

’80s Culture from 07.01 to 07.22

Here we have Spike Rush Game Mode, which promises action-packed experience. Each player can use the Spike power-up and carry the ball to the opponents’ part of the field as fast as never before.

All in-game items related to the iconic period will be available in the Event Store.

’80s Television from 07.22 to 08.12

The last part of the celebration will kick off with the Knight Rider Car Pack. K.I.T.T. will be featured, and the cars are supposed to be outfitted with gadgets that personalize futuristic high-tech presentations of the ’80 hit show.

Radical Summer’s final limited-time game mode will be Beach Ball Game Mode. It’s a 2v2 mode, which is similar to beach volleyball with a large ball so Curveball mutator and low ball gravity will be activated.

Get Ready for Radical Summer

That’s all the information that we have for now, but we are very excited about the upcoming event. Let’s get ready for the summer-long celebration of the biggest ’80s bash ever!
